Mission
What we do
The mission of Alder Row is to promote contemporary art in all media by providing a space for artistic creation, exhibition, education and dialog within a natural setting. We have created an environment that cultivates the exchange between creators and the public while supporting the production of enduring works and groundbreaking ideas.
Alder Row welcomes creatives in the broadest spectrum of artistic, scientific and critical practice and thought; providing fellowships in the form of room, board and exclusive use of a work studio for up to two months amidst a natural setting in connection with a small but supportive community. In tandem, our fellows will share their work with the local community in the forms of collaboration, exhibition, performance, lectures and workshops. This kind of exchange promotes insight, appreciation, enjoyment and understanding of all artistic disciplines including literary, visual, performing, and media arts. For the community members, these events spark meaningful engagement with creativity and offer a rare glimpse into the artistic process. In response, artists gain insight into their own work through resulting dialogue, reflection and exchange.
